Udo Dirkschneider — рок-музыкант, вокалист и один из основателей хэви-метал группы "Accept". После ухода из "Accept" в 1987 году сформировал собственную группу "U.D.O.". Журналисты долгое время пытались наградить его прозвищем, вроде таких как «Карлик», «Маленький трактор», «Германский танк» и др., а голос — «Вопли плачущего привидения», «Кашель курильщика», но никакое прозвище не прижилось. Группа "U.D.O.", как бы того не хотел сам Удо остаётся исключительно его детищем. Стиль группы легко узнаваем, во многом благодаря оригинальному голосу певца, его исключительной харизматичности и вызывает неподдельное уважение поклонников по всему миру бескомпромиссным следованием своим путём. Диркшнайдер, в отличие от многих звёзд, не высокомерен и с удовольствием общается с журналистами. Удо позитивно относится к России, как в плане музыкальных пристрастий (его любимый композитор Чайковский), так и личных привязанностей, связанных с российской культурой, образом жизни, менталитетом русских.
